I went out today for a late charter out of key biscayne at 11am. I got sick of catching jacks. I only caught one snapper but everything else were jacks! I did managed to meet some interesting people with a hell of a plan! they plan on paddeling around the whole state of florida. They started a month and a half ago at the georgia border and today I crossed paths with them at key biscayne. It is amazing how in this day and age there are still true adventurers out there!
just got my new (to me) speargun and I love it

It is an In Depth Inc. Viper 24

it has a nice metal frame with a wooden shaft guide and stablizer wings. it is a very manuverable gun and has a really cool slip guide that allows for almost instantaneous change from line shafting to free shaft just by sliding the guide off the end.

here are some pics

SO, what are you hunting with?

went out today to do a charter. I have to say.... the day was absolutely perfect! We left matheson at 6:30am and headed south to chicken key. No wind, no waves and no clouds. I landed around 15 mangrove snappers (legal size and barely) all released. and jumped a tarpon of a good 60 pounds. Fought him for 45 minutes on my micro reel and my 5' light tackle ugly stick. Until he wrapped around a mangrove and cut my line. I was so pissed! so, we got out of the water at 2pm which was perfect timing ...
